today, even though the window is closed, there are still speculations about Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Man City.

here it is if you want to read it.

and also, rumours of Kolo Toure going to Galatasaray.

I understand the Kolo Toure situation, because the Turkish transfer window doesn't close for another few days.

Is this the same situation for the spanish league?

I know the Russian and Turkish transfer window isn't closed. They can make a deal with ANY club, even if there transfer window is shut, as long as the team with the offer's window is open.

It is possible to agree a fee and personal terms with ANY player, but they can't move to there new club until there window opens.

Also, any club can sign ANY player who is a free agent, as they do not have a club and can play for the club as soon as personal terms and medical and full registration is complete.

So, it is possible for Real Madrid, and Manchester City to agree with the transfer fee, and personal terms with Ronaldo, and the contract can be signed, but will come into affect on the 1st of January (If the deal is done before then). Ronaldo would remain a Real Madrid player until that date.

Hope this helps.

It could be happend if the Transfer window of any country are not yet close. Example Russia Club "Zenit" want Kolo Tore from Man City in England. The Transfer Market in Russia is still open, but in England has closed. But "Zenit" Russia Club can still make a move for Kolo Tore from England, even thus England transfer market is currently closed.

:Note: All England Clubs (transfer market closed) CAN'T make any move for any players that are currently in any countries that have transfer window opening (Russia,France...). But they still can agree term with any players and then moving on in January or the next transfer market open.

The Spanish window closes same date as in England.

So any transfer would have to happen in mid season. In any case, clubs and players can verbally agree to sell or sign on for new clubs at any period. It would be a gentleman's agreement.

And there is always the case where a player can buy out his contract and become a free agent. Or the potential new club can finance it. There is always a loop hole.

Incidently, Ronaldo had verbally agreed to sign for Real Madrid when with Man United.
