i have an assignment related to this, but can't seem to find anything on Google. wud really appreciate any answers =) all the questions are related to high school soccer teams, not professional.
eg.
1. when does the soccer season start?
2. how long is one season (in months), n are there any breaks in between?
3. is there only one competition, or several? do all high school soccer teams participate in the same competition?
4. do the competitions take place using a knockout system, or is it a points system like in the english premier league?
5. when are most games held? (sat/sun/weekday)
6. where? (school-owned/public field/stadium)
7. how often do teams practice? (e.g. every day? twice a week? whole school year, or only during season?) i know the answer for ques 7 varies, but any example would be good..

thank you! =)

depend soccer here is very independent, high school usually offer all types of sport, it hink u.s. high school has most type of sport than any other country, soccer here is very popular for girl than boy my opinion. boy more into football and basketball, alot current kid play soccer in school are highly hispanic but is making sense, since they blood is play soccer. comperation yes, usually around the city and county. if they do very well they can compete with state and even nationwide, however too bad hgih school or college soccer catch little interet in most american don't show in tv or cable exccept the MLS pro soccer league which establei not too long ago. games can held any day really, but i think is more common at friday than any other day. pratice can be everydays because usually those kid taking soccer, or in soccer team. don't go regular PT(physical training) all they do is focus that sport (soccer) nothing much else. so is dailty thing. and usually after school hour. very unlikely they pratice off school year, but depend, if school soccer team is good the coach might decide the team start few weeks ahead school year to get ready. but really kinda rare for soccer, football is common however

hoped that help/.

High School Soccer starts here in Ca.in Sept and ends in Nov.

Local high schools play each other. It depends on how many high schools are in the area. They are divide up into different divisions. The top teams play each other. This is varsity level. They also have a Jr Varsity which does the same thing. Its done on a knock out system. Most games are on Tues/Thurs and some games on Sat.Teams practice every day except game days.I hope I have helped you.I still play myself and I Referee soccer,as well as coach it both girls and boys.I'm 59yrs old and still love this sport.

Not all high schools are on the same level not all high schools have a team. THe best way to play soccer in america is play for a travel team, and your high school.

1. it depends on the coach but my team started the last 2 or 3 weeks of July.

2.The actual games and the season start about mid Aug. there isn't any breaks.

3.each teams goal is to make it to state competition but there are tournaments that most teams can participate in during the season.

4. All competitions i have ever been in have been knockout, like 1 and out or 2 and out. it just depends.

5.coaches usually schedule games, most of ares were during the week and we would sometimes have tournaments on weekends.

6.school owned facilities, or public owned.

7.we would practice every day after school as long as we had no games. and would start conditioning and practice in late July.

Hope i helped.
