Question:
How do I Listen to BBC Radio 5 Live Match Commentaries On-line outside the UK?

I live in Ireland and when I log-on to the BBC's sports pages and try to listen to live football commentaries on-line I am told that due to contractual reasons the on-line broadcasts are only available to users in the UK. I presume that they know that I am not in the UK from my IP address.

Does anyone know of a way that I can fool the BBC website into believing that I am using a UK registered IP address?

I am not very technically minded so if this can be done I need clear instructions on how to do it.

I live in Iran and I have the same problem, but I bypass the restriction by using some proxy softwares that change my IP address to that of a UK resident. The best software that I know of is "Your Freedom" (Which has versions for both Linux and Windows). Install and run the program (and read the instructions of course!) and when selecting the server, select the one that says UK under the column "country", change your browser's proxy to : 127.0.0.1 and its port to 8080, reload the radio 5 webpage and enjoy your live football commentary!

Cheers!

And also there's this website that broadcasts premierleague live commentaries for all the world: talksport.com

You can't. The commentaries aren't supplied to the internet feed at all (likewise Test Match Special on Radio 4), so a UK IP address won't help you.

If you can't get the MW signal where you are, then your best bet is satellite.

Hiding your IP address to access geo restricted websites is now quite a common thing. Many people now do this to watch BBC/ITV outside UK, Hulu/Netflix outside US etc and alot of Arab countries doing so because pretty much anything worth looking at online is blocked there. Install VPN on your computer or device, even TV's now, pretty easy stuff really.
