Looking to buy his jersey but not sure what number he'll wear, I know he normally wears #7 because he used to play wing for the dutch but now that he's playing as the main lone striker and given both Huntelaar's bad form and van Nistelrooy's retirement, will he wear #9 instead (which I've seen him wear recently)?

No, he will stay with number 7. In football the number on the back of the shirt generally has nothing to do with the position you play in. It is a personal choice which number you wear, or you get what you're given.

I could wait with getting the jersey if I have been you, Van Persie has asked the coach van Marwijk if he might properly be the striker (quantity 9) this international cup. and if no longer he'd probably be the time-honored forward (quantity 10) or the the main suitable option winger (quantity 7) so it is going to never be clean what numer he will have till June 1st
