We all know this ranking system is even worse than the FIFA National Team ranking... asi es la vida. My wet dream is that FIFA scraps the meaningless Champions, Libertadores & other regional championships and creates a world championship.... 1,024 teams... home & away... then we can see what all the Confederations and leagues are really made out of. I know it sounds like a lot of teams but it really isn't that many rounds.... Round 1: 1,024 Round 2: 512 Round 3: 256 Round 4: 128 Round 5: 64 Round 6: 32 Round 7: 16 Round 8: 8 Round 9: 4 Round 10: 2 So for 20 matches in a year we would actually see a real world champion. And it could even involve a seeding formula where Top Ranked leagues start later in the competition... and Round 6 could be a group stage.
